The next meeting is 5.30 pm on Monday 5th July at the Havelock North Function Centre, arriving from 5.30 pm and being seated at 6.00 pm. This is changeover night.
Toast: Mike Konig
GUESTS – There were many guests for changeover night, including ten partners of current members, presidents of other local clubs, the current and incoming District Governor’s and Assistant District Governor’s. Family of both the outgoing and incoming president’s.
This was changeover night and we had a wonderful MC Mike Konig who regaled us with jokes with a wine theme during the night. Trish spoke about her year just gone and the achievements of the club during this period. It was a difficult year with Covid still playing it’s part. She was pleased with how the club had progressed, the projects that the club was involved in and thanked her management team.
Rob Brangwin was presented with honarary membership as he stands down from the club and remains as a Friend of Rotary. Rob has been with the club since the 1990’s.
Colin Wake was presented with a Paul Harris fellowship award for his 31 years of service to the club.
Two new members were accepted into the club and presented with new member packs and badges.
Lyn was then presented with the Chains and started his year as the president of the club. He thanked all those who had stepped up to either new or continuing roles in the management team and the Board. Lyn will be setting goals around the District Governor’s theme of Health and Wellness.

Rick Gekoski is a writer, rare book and manuscripts dealer, occasional broadcaster, publisher, and lecturer, as well as a former Man Booker Prize judge.
He has authored numerous non-fiction and fiction titles, his latest being Guarded by Dragons: Encounters with Rare Books and Rare People.

Changeover is always about endings and new beginnings, thank you Trish for your wonderful work over the past twelve months and welcome Lyn I am sure your year will be very productive as well. Lyn talked about how important it will be to have experienced members of the club backing him up in executive roles, and it is great to see so many continuing on in these roles.
This is actually my final bulletin and I am passing the mantle over to Sue Forde who is a wonderful writer and will I am sure do a great job.
I thank you all for the kind words, when I have written something that you have enjoyed, it is important to have this feedback to know that people are reading the bulletin.
