He spoke about the recent rally in the lower north island staying at Mt Holdsworth Station 15 km from Masterton. Steve spoke about the activities organised one being Stonehenge just out of Carterton which he found very interesting.
Guest Speakers (pictured above): Charlotte Macfarquhar from Woodford and Rani Williams from Havelock High School who attended the Rotary National Science and Technology Forum during the January school holidays. About 180 attendees over 13 days finishing on day 13 with a closing ceremony and formal dinner. The girls started off by sharing a video giving a great overview of the forum, they then went through the forum showing pictures of each day and explained what they did each day. Two amazing young women with great futures – See video below –

Thank you to everyone that help make this another successful Rotary Project. We only had a couple of days selling outside Countdown before they started their rebuilding project, thanks to Peter we managed to secure additional spots. We had a couple of days of very wet weather otherwise the weather was kind and we sold all our tickets with a week to spare. Thank you to the organising committee, David who came up with the idea of the kayak which was a huge hit and Colin for setting the trailer up and all who spend hours selling tickets.
District 9930 Conference: Another reminder to register for the conference in May and for those attending to come up with a theme for the club. The overall theme is Mid-Life crisis, so we need to come up with something around this theme.

It is so great to see the benefits gained by us sponsoring students to the Science Forum each year. Although in the overall scheme of things this is not huge money, the benefits that the students who attend, gain is very heartwarming. Each year they come back to present to our club and you can tell that they have been uplifted by the experience and found the forum extremely worthwhile for their future decisions. Here’s to Rotary being able to continue to support youth in this way and influencing students lives in such a positive way.
